Livestock Auctioneers Association (LAA) Graduation Awards

On Monday 5th January 2026 Robert Addison, the newly appointed chairman of the Dick Harrison Trust braved the wintry conditions to travel down to Harper Adams Agricultural College, Newport to attend the annual graduation awards for the Certificate of Higher Education in Livestock Market Operations and Management.
The award for top first-year student, is sponsored by the Trust, and was made jointly to deserving winners Ms Kerry Foster and Mr Anders Brown both of whom work for Harrison and Hetherington at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.
The successful students were presented with an auctioneer’s gavel and a copy of the book “Agricultural Valuations – A Practical Guide” by Jeremy Moody & Nick Millard of the CAAV.
Robert commented that “it was as always, a pleasure to be asked to present the LAA award for top first-year student which is sponsored by the Dick Harrison Trust which supports students wishing to pursue careers in auctioneering and land agency. I am always impressed by the quality of the students undertaking the Livestock Market Operations and Management course and this year’s joint winners are testament to the calibre of young people coming into the auctioneering industry and this is great to see and I wish all the students the best for their future careers”
