I am currently in my first year at Harper Adams University studying Rural Enterprise and Land Management. I am very grateful for the support I have received from the Dick Harrison Trust. This support will be used to purchase books and other learning materials which will help with my studies and future work in practice.

Once qualified I aim to start my career in Rural Surveying and complete my RICS and CAAV qualifications. I would highly recommend the Dick Harrison Trust to anyone wishing to pursue a career in Land Management or Auctioneering, as their encouragement and assistance make a meaningful difference in enabling students to achieve their professional goals and progress confidently within the rural sector.

I am in my first year studying Rural Enterprise and Land Management (REALM) at Harper Adams University. I am from a farming family from Egremont, Cumbria. I received an award from the Trust, which will make such a difference for the future, I have used the award to order a t-square and other equipment and books for my next assignment.

I really appreciate the Dick Harrison Trust as they have helped me significantly with funding towards university which will continue help me throughout my time at Harper Adams.

I am in my first year of studying Rural Surveying and Rural Land Management at Aberdeen University.

I am delighted to be receiving an award from the Dick Harrison Trust to help further my progress in becoming a Rural surveyor. The award will be very beneficial in helping with resources during my studies and inevitable course fees and travel expenses while gaining experience in the industry.

I am incredibly grateful to those on the Trust for the privilege to continue on this career path, and I look forward to pursuing work at Land agents in the near future.

I am a second year Rural Enterprise and Land Management student at Harper Adams University. This is my second year receiving this award from the Dick Harrison Trust, which has allowed me to purchase books and other learning resources to support me studying for my degree and in future professional work. I am very appreciative of the Dick Harrison Trust and would like to thank the Trust for their support over the last two years.

I plan on working for Cundalls, in North Yorkshire, for my placement year, starting this September. Here, I hope to gain invaluable knowledge and put the theory we are taught at Harper Adams into practice. I aim to complete both my RICS and CAAV qualifications once I graduate. I would highly recommend making the most of the opportunities offered by the trust to those studying a rural land management degree, as the support will only enhance their studies.

I am a first year student studying Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams. I really appreciate the assistance given to me by the Dick Harrison Trust. It has really helped me with the purchase of study books and equipment needed to help with my education whilst studying at Harper Adams University. I also feel very privileged to be the second generation of Raines' receiving the award, after my father was also presented with one in 1989.

I would fully recommended the Dick Harrison Trust to anyone studying for a land management based degree and is from Cumbria, Northumberland or Scotland. A career in land management, in my opinion is a very niche subject, so I am grateful to the trust for giving the help and encouragement to pursue a career in this direction.

I received my award from the Dick Harrison Trust in 2018 whilst in my final year at Harper Adams University studying a BSc(Hons) degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. In 2016/2017 I completed my placement year at H&H Land and Property in Carlisle as part of by degree, where I gained invaluable knowledge and experience.

I was very lucky to have been offered a graduate position at H&H Land and Property and returned to the firm in September 2018 after I had graduated. I am now working towards my Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Central Association of Agricultural Valuers professional exams.

I would very much like to take the opportunity to thank The Dick Harrison Trust for their support, enabling me to purchase books that helped me in the run up to my exams and will continue to be useful in my future career. I would certainly encourage anyone from Northumberland, Cumbria or Scotland studying courses related to rural land management or auctioneering to take the opportunity offered by the trust.
